These heavyweight t-shirts feature a 225 gsm jersey fabric custom-knit for 3sixteen in Canada. For almost a decade, 3sixteen Heavyweight T-shirts have been a staple and one of the brand's best-selling products in its core collection.
These tees are constructed with a triple-needle coverstitch 'never-sag' collar and are fully cut and sewn in the same factory in San Francisco that crafts 3sixteen jeans. The fabric is a heavyweight 260gsm jersey custom-knit to the brand's exact specifications by Roopa Knitting Mills, one of the world's top knitting mills. In 2017, the Wall Street Journal named them the best t-shirts in the mid-price tier in their evaluation of over 50 styles.
3sixteen has developed this new version of their signature heavyweight jersey that has the same weight and hand feel - but unlike before, the fabric is tubular knit and then laundered, removing almost all shrinkage from the fabric. The fit has been slightly modified to fit a bit roomier straight out of the gate than our previous version, but the real difference is that the t-shirt no longer shrinks on the first wash as it did before.
These tees stays true to standard sizing. If you usually wear a size M in 3sixteen shirts or other American brands, you'll find a suitable fit with this shirt in size M. However, as always, we recommend consulting our size chart for the perfect fit.
Founded in LA by Johan Lam and Andrew Chen over a decade ago, 3sixteen's philosophy is evident in pieces they've developed since 2008: shirts, jackets, basics and accessories all take cues in form and function from their jeans. Fabrics and trims are always chosen for their capacity to develop character with time. 3sixteen aim is that, with diligent wear, the customers are rewarded with something well-aged, never ""old.""
